Here are some suggestions of questions to ask your physician when prescribing your medication:
- What is the name of the drug (generic and brand names) and its strength?
- What does the medication do?
- How should the medication be taken?
- When should it be taken?
- Are there any foods or beverages which should or should not be taken with this medication?
- What should I do if I miss a dose?
- Where should the medication be stored?
- What, if any, other medications will interact with this medication?
- Based on my history, could I be allergic to this medication?
- Are there any other drugs or medical conditions that would make it unwise for me to take this medication?
- How will alcohol affect my taking of this medication?
- What are the common side effects of this medication?
- Will I experience any changes in the color of my urine or stool?
- How long will I be taking this medication?
- Can I drive or operate machinery while taking this medication?
